The Mall
One place that you cannot ignore is definitely the Mall Road in Shimla. Located at the heart of the town, the Mall Road in Simla is one of the busiest commercial ar
eas of this place. Built by the British during the colonial rule in India, the Mall Road was constructed keeping in mind the traffic on this route. Entry of vehicles was banned though cycle rickshaws were allowed. It has been built in a very strategic and planned way.

The Mall is Shimla's main promenade. Here, contemporary commercial enterprises rub shoulders with stately colonial edifices, churches and other landmarks of the town. At one end of The Mall is the city's colourful local market, called Lakkar Bazaar.

In 1905, the Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon became so captivated with the beauty of Naldehra, a place 22 kilometers from him summer capital Shimla, that he would often come and camp here for days on end. It was probably for the memory oh his stay here, that he named his third daughter ‘Alexander Naldehra’ & it was on his favorite camping site that he established what t
oday is one of the oldest & most scenic golf courses in the country. The course boasts of considerable character with wide views of the Himalayas, surrounded by thick woods & comes complete with an ancient temple by the greens, built in traditional style.
The Naldehra Golf Club is an unusual course, perched at an altitude of 2,200 meters; under a thick mane of Himalayan Cedar ; “Deodar Trees”. It is a par 68, 18 Hole Golf Course with 16 Greens and 18 Tees. Designed over a long sloping glade, the course is regarded as one of the most challenging in the Country.
It is about an hour's drive from the hotel. Viceroy Lord Curzon was so enchanted by this spot that his daughter's middle name is Naldehra. He also created India's first nine-hole golf course at this site, and the perfect season is between April and October.
